
Boilermaking Apprenticeship - Innisfail Opportunity
TORGAS is seeking candidates that are wanting to commence a Boilermaking Apprenticeship based in Innisfail, QLD. If you are motivated and hardworking, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for candidates who have the commitment to complete a 4 year apprenticeship, which will allow you to gain a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade. This candidate must have strong knowledge and passion for the industry.
THE APPRENTICESHIP WILL INVOLVE:
- Assist in the manufacture and repair of plant, metal structures and items.
- Assist in maintaining workshop equipment in operational condition.
- Assist in security, care and maintenance of allocated machinery, small plant and tools.
- Assist in performing general repairs and metal fabrication using MMAW, MIG and OAW processes.
- Contribute to the quality and quantity of work.
- Attend Section communication meetings.
- In the course of the work use of metal lathe, radial drill, cut-off machines, bench grinders, hand and power tools.
- Comply with Council's Workplace, Health and Safety policy, safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Comply with Council’s policies, procedures and Local Laws relevant to Department and Section.
- Undertake training both external and on-the-job in conjunction with the Apprentice Boilermaker/Welder requirements, Council’s Corporate Training Plan and any other identified training as deemed necessary.
- Undertake on-the-job and work experience and structured formal studies in line with Apprenticeship requirements.

- Successful applicants will be required to complete aptitude testing, a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
This apprenticeship will allow you to gain a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade. This is a nationally recognised qualification and is an entry level position suitable for candidates who have not yet completed a Certificate III qualification or higher.
All wages are paid as per the relevant Award.
